Working together through nonprofit organizations we all have the power to transform our communities and our own lives.
My training and consulting practice is rooted in my deep belief in the power of nonprofit organizations to transform lives and communities. My work, initially in the Northwest, and more recently across the country, has allowed me to support the work of thousands of people working together through nonprofit organizations to create the changes they want most for their communities, their regions, and our world.
From organizations rooted in the poorest communities, I have learned the power of faith, persistence, and insistence to make change. From land trusts and affordable housing organizations, I have learned the power of using the tools of business and tax planning to fuel realization of inspiring missions. From over 35 years of work with domestic violence and sexual assault organizations, I have learned that institutions as well as individuals can and will change when voices are united to insist upon justice.
My work today – providing training and consulting to build sustainable nonprofit organizations – draws upon my own multiple roles within the nonprofit sector, as a founder, a frequent Board member, long tenured executive director, funder, monitor, financial systems designer, and facilitator.
